Watercolor is the artist's medium of choice. Always interested in art, she has worked in oil, pastel, acrylic before falling in love with the flow and challenger of white paper and transparent watercolor. She also enjoys exploring mixed media for abstract and non-objective designs.
Bobbye describes herself as a self-taught artist who has had generous help and inspiration from Dallas srtists and instructors, Naomi Brotherton and Jane Jones. She has also attended numerous workshops with nationally known artists and has painted continously for more than twenty years. Her work has been described as colorful, dramatic and illuminating.
She has been a member of Kerrville Arts & Cultural Center, Guadelupe Watercolor Group, Coppini Academy of Fine Arts, Hill Country Art Foundation. Currently she is a member of Southwest Watercolor Society, Hoover Art Society, Mineola League of the Arts, Texas Watercolor Society, San Antonio Watercolor Group and Splash Group of Tyler.
This past year Bobbye's paintings were entered and exhibited by Hoover Watercolor Society, Southwest Watercolor Society, Richardson Civic Arts Society, and Mt. Pleasant Art Society. She has received honorable mention at Hoover in Shreveport, Memorial Award from Mt. Pleasant and Winsor Newton Painting Award from Richardson's 41st Regional Jurried Show
