Ellie Taylor
After teaching art in elementary school in Texas for 33 years, Ellie retired early because, she says, “When I grow up I want to be an artist.” During a 6 year period she studied art with Earline Barnes in El Paso, Texas. Upon retirement she returned to college to study under Jo Taylor and Dr. Ollie Theisen at Northeast Texas Community College.
In 2002 Ellie’s work was accepted into the Salon International Show at Greenhouse Gallery in San Antonia where it received the Artistic Merit Award.
Ellie says, “I want my art to express feeling, aesthetic beauty, awe, and drama. I use exaggerated color and bold impressionistic strokes to accomplish that.” Ellie and her husband now live at Holly Lake Ranch north of Tyler. |
