Jackie Stempel

Jackie received a degree in art from Texas Tech University.  She raised a family and worked at the University of Texas at Arlington.  Taking early retirement to join her husband in East Texas, she rediscovered her love of fiber art and began quilting, appliqué, and knitting.  Her quilts use traditional patterns with contemporary fabrics.  She loves the challenge of piecing miniature quilts, paper piecing, and incorporating fabrics in unusual color combinations to create her quilts.  She hand quilts most of her creations, using either a lap hoop or her large floor quilt frame.  She shares a studio space with her husband Judd at their home on Lake Cypress Springs.
