Suzann Cromer
Suzann Cromer’s formal education began at North Texas State in
Denton, Texas. She began painting and drawing at an early age and
has continued to study various forms of art through apprenticeship
and atelier programs with private instructors. Believing that as a
student of art you are always learning and viewing the world in a
special way.
She has for many years done character studies of children whose
families commission portraits on a yearly basis, creating a gallery of works.
In addition to drawing and painting, she has in the past few years added
sculpture in clay to her working mediums with a primary interest in portraits
and the human figure, and also has clients who commission
terra cotta portraits. She has had works purchased for public museum
and private collections.
Having served as Artist in Residence at the Longview Museum of Fine
Arts, in Longview, Texas and judging shows at the Michelson Museum,
Marshall, Texas and giving private classes has enabled her to share
some of her knowledge with many students of all ages.
She is currently a member of the National Sculpture Society or New York,
The Texas Sculpture Association, Dallas, Texas, the Mt. Pleasant Art
Society, Mt. Pleasant, Texas, the Portrait Society of America, Tallahassee,
Florida, The Texas Society of Sculptors, Austin, Texas and The
Sculptors of Life, Texas.
