Valerie Sanders

Valerie Jungck Sanders graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in Minnesota with a teaching degree in Art, Health and Physical Education. After eight years of teaching, she moved to San Diego.  At that time she diverted her energies from teaching to learning when she took classes and seminars in watercolors.
She has achieved much success as a watercolorist.  Her bold use of color and design, and the diversity of her style and subject matter have earned her several "Frist Place" awards, an "Honorable Mention" at the Del Mar Fair and "Most Popular of Show" for San Diego's Women's Opportunity Week Art Show.
She is adept at negative painting, using many layers of paint to create depth and strong values with vibrant color.  Her subject matter ranges from bright florals, landscapes, seascapes, birds and wildlife to bold abstracts.
Today, Valerie and her husband live in Emory, Texas.
